Creature Interactions is an interactive installation centred on the environment and our relationship with it. It presents a uniquely immersive and interactive re-imagining of the natural Australian bush habitats and has created a wondrous play space for both young and old audiences to educate and rediscover their natural surroundings.
Creature Interactions is driven by a desire to educate, engage and entertain. The interactive installation utilises bespoke cutting edge software and the power of the UTS Data Arena to immerse participants in 360-degree stereoscopic 3D projections.
You will be immersed in the sound of the Australian bush. As you walk into the arena a swirl of particles will greet you that transforms into a bounding kangaroo. Butterflies land on your hand and the birds flock around the crowd, attracted to the movements of the audience. Native australian animals appear in a mysterious string form that the audience can physically spin, weave and morph into new forms. Large scale bushfire and rain events surround the viewer before we head to the night sky to play with the stars and moons.
Creature was originally commissioned by the Out of the Box Festival in Brisbane, Australia and has been reimagined in the immersive 3d environment of the UTS Data Arena.
