The Falls

The Falls is the new immersive cinema project by Dr Gregory Ferris (Only at the Air, Only at Each Other, Sydney Film Festival 2017).

Extract from the Sydney Film Festival 2019 program:

Using a 360-degree, stereoscopic, panoramic projection system, the work mixes 3D imagery, live action and computer visualisations. Part Kubrick, part Lynch, The Falls is an immersive experimental drama that loops in and around the last few minutes of the life of an aging stuntman (Cameron Stewart), as he reflects on the past, the present, and his many near death experiences. The work continues the artist filmmaker's obsession with the use of hotel rooms as a cinematic metaphor for purgatory, as an in-between space between life and death.

Contains themes of suicide that may be distressing to some audience members.
