Design Considerations
👉 A few things to consider
The Data Arena is a unique space. Consider these notes below as you design your presentation.
- Plan how you might communicate across the the 360º canvas. While you can click through slides, consider pacing content around the room in a clockwise direction with entrance animations. There is a lot of room that can be utilised!
- The centre area will be visible first in front of you as you walk into the Data Arena.
- Use darker slides where possible. White or bright backgrounds can often wash out colours on screen and have less of an impact
- Avoid font sizes smaller than 10 as our resolution may inhibit legibility
- Avoid fast animations or large movements as they can be disorienting at the scale of the DA’s display
- Keep content away from the door area. The dotted lines indicate the edges of the DA entrance doorway. Any content past this points will not be visible when the door is open.
- Half the height of your slides is equal to ~2 metres in person. Keep this scale in mind.
Image Limits: max 1600px
Google Slides has an image resolution limit of 1600px (on either side). Images larger than this will be downsampled. This might be an issue if they contain fine graphic details and small text, but otherwise will likely still look great. Test in the DA before making a decision.
👀 Test early, test often
While you can develop your presentation off-site, you will need to visit and see your work on-screen at least a few times to get a proper sense of scale and to catch any issues. Make a booking and start testing. See the Publish and View in the DA page for instructions.
